Taous Sfax site

The EC site is anexperimental rainfed oliveryard of the Olive Institute in Tunisia.
The Olive Institute is a governmental institution whichacts both
as a research and technical advisory body. CESBIO is working both at local (flux tower) and landscape (eXtra Large Scintillometer) scales.

The Kairouan plain (Merguelil catchment) is the area wheredistributed models forced with or assimilating High Resolution Remote Sensing data are
developed and evaluated. On the local site, we have completed the
existing set-up during a field trip in June 2021 with 1- root sap
flowmeasurements (add up to the existing trunk sap flow probes)
to understand the plant transfer, 2- low cost TIRcameras in order
to characterize the distribution of leaf temperatures in the
crown.

This site is also studied within theframe of the ALTOS
PRIMA project to understand the impact of canopy heterogeneity on
the water and energypathways.

The Kairouan plain is where we study the assimilation of TIR based (Landsat, MODIS) evapotranspirationproduced by EVASPA and SPARSE energy budget models into the distributed agrohydrological model SAMIR(FLUXMED sponsored postdoc of Chloé Ollivier).
